Practice Is Everything.
Colkitt Architecture is a design office and trusted collaborator in creating spaces driven and measured by performance. The business of space—creating habitats for humans to connect with brands—is the primary motivation for their work.
Beginning his practice in 2006, Colkitt’s mission has been to finely tune the look, feel, and performance of a brand to reach the highest level. Meticulously considered design remains paramount. Dialogue and sustainability empower this approach.
“Like a great tailor, an architect’s goal is not to make a space fit the brand. It is not to reproduce their form. Great architecture effectively allows the brand to perform optimally, to transform the entity into its highest and best self. It is about tuning and altering the look, feel, and performance of a brand to be the best they can be over space and time.”
For over 20 years, Principal Nathan Lee Colkitt has guided the design for global sports brand PUMA as the company evolves its retail footprint throughout the globe. He has planned, designed, and executed hundreds of stores implementing the latest technology and effectively enhancing fundamental real-life experiences while driving sales.
The studio has expertise in retail and commercial design, architecture, hospitality, real estate development, and adaptive reuse, delivering services throughout the US, Canada, and beyond.
Although these larger projects are often a focus of attention, Colkitt continues to work within a range of scales and types of work starting from something as seemingly small as a fitting room mirror.
